i forgot to mention: the document viewer also works with iphones without flash, pdf viewers and other software.

If one does even not like to require flash for document views, there is a free service in german: looky-look.net

Don't blame IntenseDebate - I've been hopping back and forth, which probably hasn't helped people who subscribe to my comments (read: you).

If you read further down my comments (I think they're out of order now) I reckon Vuzit has the edge using AJAX as you've stated. Your comments about footprint are interesting, and something I hadn't considered. I'll be watching with interest to see where else Vuzit goes.

I believe you were using IntenseDebate on your blog in the past, and I'm going to blame them for my delay in responding. I never received an email notifying me that you replied ...

I think iPaper is an impressive product, and it's great to see a number of companies focused on similar areas in the marketplace. On the technology side, I think AJAX gives our publishers a great amount of flexibility that Flash simply cannot provide ... and the footprint is much smaller (loads faster in mostly all cases). As for the business, I would prefer not to make any announcements here but we will be releasing some new products that will make the positioning clearer. Stay tuned.

You mentioned a full-screen viewer. There is an example of that here:

You can also add a full-screen link to your viewer's toolbar, and host it on your own site. This is discussed here:

It sliced and dices and does your taxes too. You know that it's a bit rude to just copy and paste your front page sales pitch into comments. The whole idea of marketing yourself on blogs is to engage in conversation with customers, like Chris did (above).

And your name is a misnomer as well, it's not Ajax, it's flash, otherwise I could use it on my iPhone.

I can however see the vuzit document somehow, so they win!

Josh, Thank you for the thoughtful write-up, we really appreciate it. pdfmenot appears to be throwing an error now, so Vuzit appears to stand the test of time. :-D However, I think they have built a fine product that is extremely easy to use. As you pointed out, we have focused heavily on developers first, and our user tools will be coming in the near future.
